Your Questions, Answered

  • You can reach us anytime via our contact page, email, or phone number. We aim to respond quickly—usually the same day or within 24 hours.

  • We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity. After an initial conversation, we’ll provide a transparent quote with no hidden costs.

  • For your convenience, we accept Cash, Check, and Credit Cards (credit card payments incur a 2.9% processing fee). To help our customers avoid late fees, we keep a card on file to process payment after the job is completed if other payment is not provided. Payments are due upon completion of the service.

  • We carry comprehensive General Liability insurance and Workers' Compensation. This protects our customers from any liability in the unlikely event of property damage or a technician injury. We are happy to provide copies of our insurance certificates upon request.

  • While renting a pressure washer is an option, it carries significant risks. DIYers often cause permanent damage by using too much pressure on siding, or they injure themselves on ladders. Additionally, store-bought cleaners are often not professional-strength and do not kill the algae at the root. Hiring Powerhouse ensures a safer, longer-lasting clean with zero risk to your property.

  • You don’t need to be home, but we do ask for a few things to ensure a smooth professional power washing experience:

    • Water: We require access to an on-site water supply o complete the job efficiently.

    • Clear the Area: Please move items like grills, deck furniture, planters, and cotton-based items (cushions/wreaths) away from the work area.

    • Safety First: For the safety of your family, please keep children and pets indoors during the service and off the cleaned surfaces for 24 hours afterward.

  • We stand by the quality of our work and use high-grade professional products. All product warranties are provided by the specific manufacturers of the cleaners or sealants used. If you ever have a concern regarding the results of our exterior cleaning, please notify us immediately so we can address it.

  • We keep a close eye on the forecast! Since exterior cleaning is weather-dependent, inclement weather may occasionally require us to reschedule. If your project start or completion date is affected by the weather, we will notify you as far in advance as possible to find the next available opening that works for you.

  • We understand that plans change! If you need to reschedule your house wash, gutter cleaning, or concrete sealing, please give us as much notice as possible.

    • Standard Services: Cancellations made within 48 hours of service are subject to a fee of 50% of the quoted price.

    • Christmas Light Installation: Due to high seasonal demand, cancellations within 3 days of the appointment are charged at the full service price.

  • We recommend having your home professionally soft washed once a year. In our humid Midwest climate, homes are prone to accumulating green algae, mold, and mildew, especially on the north-facing sides that get less sunlight. Annual cleaning is not just about curb appeal; it is preventative maintenance. Removing these organic contaminants regularly prevents them from becoming embedded in your siding, which extends the life of your exterior and keeps your property value high.

  • Pressure washing utilizes high-pressure water (often up to 4,000 PSI) to mechanically remove dirt and stains. It is ideal for hard, durable surfaces like concrete and stone. Soft washing, on the other hand, uses low-pressure water (under 100 PSI) combined with specialized cleaning solutions to kill organic growth and remove stains. Most homes in Columbia and St. Charles require a soft wash for their siding, as high pressure can damage vinyl, wood, and stucco.

  • The cleaning solutions used by Powerhouse are biodegradable and, when used correctly by professionals, are completely safe. The primary cleaning agent breaks down into basic salt and water within hours of application. Once the surfaces are dry, the area is safe for children and pets to enjoy. Our technicians are trained to follow strict safety protocols to ensure that no harmful residues remain.

  • In the Missouri climate, a professional soft wash typically keeps a home free of visible algae and mold for 12 to 24 months. The longevity of the clean depends on factors such as the amount of shade the home receives, the proximity to trees, and the local humidity levels.

  • These streaks, often called "tiger striping," are caused by the electrostatic bonding of pollutants and asphalt runoff from the roof to the gutter's aluminum surface. A standard house wash may not fully remove them. Powerhouse can remove them by using a specialized chemical process called gutter brightening to break this bond and restore the gutters to their original appearance for an additional cost.

  • Due to the heavy tree canopy in many neighborhoods, we recommend gutter cleaning at least twice a year: once in the late spring (to remove pollen and "helicopter" seeds) and once in the late fall (to remove leaves). This prevents the foundation damage and basement flooding.

  • We are very familiar with HOA/City requirements in cities like O'Fallon, St. Peters, St. Charles, and Wentzville. We offer prompt scheduling and can provide you with a digital receipt and "before and after" photos to submit to your HOA board or City as proof of compliance. Our soft wash process is the most effective way to satisfy HOA and City standards and avoid fines

  • The humidity from the Missouri River creates a "microclimate" that accelerates the growth of Gloeocapsa magma (black streaks) and green algae. Homes in the river valley often experience growth on all four sides of the structure, not just the north side. Regular soft washing is essential in this region to prevent this growth from becoming permanent.

  • Absolutely. Real estate experts agree that curb appeal is the most important factor in making a first impression. A clean home, sparkling windows, and a bright driveway can significantly increase the number of showings and the value of offers you receive. In the competitive Columbia and St. Charles markets, exterior cleaning is a high-ROI investment.

  • Exterior cleaning in Missouri is temperature-dependent. We generally operate as long as the daytime temperatures are above 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This allows our cleaning solutions to work effectively and ensures that water does not freeze and damage our equipment. This is generally March 1 through early October each year. During October, November, and December we transition to our Professional Christmas Light installation services.

  • Protection of your landscaping is our top priority. We use a "triple-protection" approach: pre-wetting all plants, using surfactants to control chemical drift, and a thorough post-service rinse.

  • To ensure the "Powerhouse Standard" of quality, we only install the commercial-grade lights that we provide. Store-bought lights often have inconsistent colors, thin wiring, and cannot be cut to fit your home perfectly. By using our professional C9 LEDs, we can guarantee a custom fit (no dangling cords!), ensure the lights stay bright all season, and offer our free maintenance warranty.

  • You don't have to lift a finger! Our service is all-inclusive, which means maintenance is included. If a bulb burns out, a clip comes loose, or a storm disturbs the display, simply text or call us. We will have a technician out to your home (usually within 24-48 hours) to fix it at no extra cost to you.

  • Our service is a comprehensive leasing program. We provide the lights, timers, cords, and clips. This model is better for you because you never have to worry about replacing dead bulbs, buying new storage bins, or untangling knots in your garage. We store everything in our climate-controlled facility, so the equipment stays in pristine condition for next year.

  • We value long-term relationships! When you sign up with Powerhouse, your installation price is locked in for each consecutive year you renew with us. While other costs may go up, your holiday lighting rate stays the same, rewarding your loyalty and making your holiday budget predictable.

  • We know you don't want Christmas lights up in March! We begin our takedown schedule on January 2nd and work efficiently to have all properties cleared by the end of the month (weather permitting).
